With this spectacular square shawl, Brooklyn Tweed blogger Jared Flood explores the diversity of the garter stitch in lace designs. This wrap starts with a simple center square of garter stitch knit on the bias, creating long diagonals across the center section. Then you pick up stitches along the outer edge to work the horseshoe lace motif trimmed with a lacy edge. The end result is a gorgeous accessory to add to your own collection or to give to your favorite friend or relative.
