Another popular theory as to why knitting has suddenly become cool is that the pace of life and mass market consumerism has heralded renewed interest in home and family -- and that translates into greater interest in crafts and creativity.

Knitting for Kids Although we know that knitting has become unbelievably popular among the younger crowd, we were surprised when we learned that Matthew, the 7-year old son of our Customer Service Rep Lynn, arrived home from school with a bag containing yarn and needles. His teacher at Brice Christian Academy, had provided the class with the supplies so she could teach them all – boys and girls – how to knit. She thinks it’s a great way for them to learn eye-hand coordination while participating in an activity that will help them relax. And what a constructive way to do it! They’ll each end up with a completed project they can be proud of…and they’ll have learned a new skill they can use for the rest of their life.
