This month we have fabulous new yarn additions from Knit One, Crochet Too and Rowan as well as new colors in many of your favorite yarns from some of our best-selling manufacturers. Let's start off with the latest offering from Rowan. Building on the immediate success of stunning Kidsilk Creation, the yarn mavens at Rowan have developed Kidsilk Creation Stripe. Dyed to match the breath-taking colorways of Kaffe Fassett's Kidsilk Haze Stripe yarn, you now have an auto-striping and auto-ruffling beauty in "Kidsilk Creation Stripe" yarn. Just imagine all of the quick & easy scarves you can knit and crochet by following the directions from the free pattern printed on the inside of each label. (See the Kidsilk Creation Stripe Scarf project for a quick overview.) Or use it to make wonderful ruffled trim for your favorite cardigan, jacket, shawl and more.

Then beautifully crafted in Italy of 60% cotton & 40% acrylic, fantastic DungarEase yarn by Knit One, Crochet Too is a great supersoft, light worsted choice. Plied with a tight twist and dyed in a lovely range of denim jeans shades, "DungarEase" is aptly named to remind you of its casual, year-round style. Add that it's machine wash and dry and has a generous 250 yards in each 100-gram ball, and you have the ideal choice for adult and children's garments and accessories. Also remember that "DungarEase" is terrific for those with sensitive skin!

Of course, you know you can count on Helene Rush, the owner of Knit One Crochet Too, to give you great patterns to support "DungarEase," and our favorites include the clever DungarEase & Ty-Dy Aztec Tee, the fun Gingham Baby Blanket that's great for a baby shower, the colorblock Child's Running Stitch Cardie, the retro Ellie May Top and the short-sleeved DungarEase Maizie Cardie.

As we've been discussing for several months, now that warmer weather his here to stay in North America, we're checking out the latest seasonal fashion trends for the season. So what are the best warm-weather styles we can enjoy now and well into the next few months? We've researched the style advice of some of our favorite knitwear designers and also gotten tips from haute-couture fashionistas to spice up our wardrobes for spring. In the April newsletter we introduced the hottest new trend for the entire season -- striping -- but definitely stripes in a wide range of approaches and designs. Then in the May newsletter, we focused on the must-have tunic plus unstructured styles and longer lengths for all garments. And in the June newsletter, we focused on the short-sleeved and sleeveless styles that can be worn now and then used as layering pieces in the autumn. So please consider our recommended staff picks to add that extra flair to your wardrobe you so crave and to jazz up your summer collection with these marvelous projects that won't break the bank:

    DungarEase Gingham Top
    Gingham Top

  • First off, we love the wonderful shaping and clever designs Debbie Bliss and other innovators always create to support her Debbie Bliss yarns. Featured in the Spring/Summer 2012 issue of Knit Simple, we bet you'll enjoy the Amalfi V-Neck Top. This relaxed V-neck has the easy-to-fit, unstructured bodice so popular right now. Also its textured rib columns emanate from the deep ribbed waistband for a flattering silhouette. It's crafted of Amalfi yarn that's a superb blend of cotton, rayon, linen & silk and is available in a lovely palette of solid shades.
  • Then for designs with a definite runway twist, you know you can count on the sensational team of Rowan designers for oodles of inspiration. As featured in the collection Rowan Studio Issue 25, take a look at the marvelously feminine, multi-seasonal Kidsilk Haze Phoebe Shrug with its demure, soft, feminine shaping. This little short-sleeved bolero jacket is perfect over something sleeveless to keep your shoulders warm and to add a soft, girly touch. Eyelet lace borders and picot trim on the sleeves give that look perfectly.
  • And we can also keep right in style with the latest trends by checking out the latest patterns from Knit One Crochet Too. One of our favorite new patterns from owner Helene Rush is the trendy DungarEase Gingham Top. For this pullover, Helene uses the gingham pattern on the front and back yokes as well as on the border for the bottom edge. The check effect gives this cute top a really casual, comfortable look so that it'll look great with jeans or dress pants - a real winner to add to your warm-weather wardrobe!
  • And last but certainly not least, we have on our favorites list several designs for the young ones you enjoy styling too. For instance, the Baby Cashmerino Baby Romper is just ideal for both boys and girls, and sweet details like the ribbed waistband, bib front and picot edged leg openings make this garment almost as precious as the baby who will be wearing it. Also the Crocheted Sunshine Baby Dress is another terrific outfit for that little one in your life. Ribbon roses accent the neckline of this quick-to-make frock, and since it's crocheted in one piece from the top down, it's easy to customize the finished length and width too.
